About time.

I've thought it crazy they only have Ethernet ports for ages, especially as so many people have their BD Player nowhere near their router and HomePlug is expensive.

I like the idea and support it even though I dont need it. I decided long ago to place a wireless 5 port bridge at both of my HT units. This solution has been great and I only had to set each one up once, all new stuff is all plug and play which is a perk.

I think BD-live now has a chance. The less complex these players get the better it gets as far as consumer adoption goes.

You know, with things being so Wi-Fi intensive nowadays, I never could for the life of me figure out why this was not implemented from the beginning. My BD Player is nowhere near my router.......

All things considered, I'm glad things have moved in the right direction. This still won't help me get out of buying a bridge for my current player though :-(

It's freakin' amazing! What stroke of genius thought that integrating wi-fi into a Ethernet enabled device that lives in an A/V equipment rack would be a smart thing? They should be thanked profusely!

To take it a step further, maybe they'll take that technology and integrate it still further with a media player built in and maybe even some gaming functionality.

Wait, didn't the PS3 debut a couple years back?

Why are manufacturers so freakin' slow to respond to basic concepts?

Eh, samsung owns it with added media streaming capabilities not to mention video streaming. LG & Panny own it with video streaming I'm sure this will be a good solid bluray player to be sure, but there are other options, with better value out there.

This is certainly good news as it'll make f/w updates a lot easier vs running long-ass ethernet cables from modem/router to unit.Quite frankly I find BD live as just a gimmick and I really could care less. 3 of my 4 BD players are profile 1.1 with my PS3 being the only 2.0 player. PQ/AQ are my main concerns, BD live is blah but wifi enabled players are ceratainly welcome especially if you can now stream netflix or blockbuster movies to it.
