Default Recommend me a TV Stand

Anyone recently get a new one? My current setup has my 32" Sharp LCD sitting on top of a clothes dresser. My center channel is sitting on top of two boxes to make it over my TV and the rest of my gear is sitting on what should be a hallway table. Anyone have a place online that they trust? I'd rather not go to Best Buy because I know the kind of mark-up they put on those sorts of things.

Why do you need a TV stand with an LCD TV? Your wall fall down?

If you are gung ho and don't want to spend to much check out www.racksandstands.com for lots of options. Do your own homework on exactly what you want for the setup and the quality - but they offer many brands at fair prices.

www.salamanderdesigns.com is pricier, but thier quality is very good and they are A/V all the way.

Thanks, I'll have to check that out. And no, my walls are quite fine thank you very much . I would just mount it to the wall, but I might be moving soon, so I'd rather not go through the trouble. Also, it wouldn't solve the problem of where to put the rest of my gear.

Check my sig, my stand is available at walmart, fairly in expensive and nice looking... The only caveot is you're going to have to do a better job with cable management than I have so far... I'm planning on doing a tear down/rebuild soon to that end.

Pictures of the new setup

Check out my thread here, you can see the stand I built for my new HT setup. I've said it before and I'll say it again; if you have the time and skill, I'd strongly recommend building your own entertainment unit. You can make it look great and match your decor, it's generally cheaper and you have far less limitations.

That's some nice work there. I'm sure I could build a strong enough entertainment center myself, but making it look good...well...it would be functional.

I also have 0 desire to mount my display on a wall.
puts it way too far away for my tastes.
I also have no desire to take the stand that comes with the set off.
I also have used www.racksandstands.com
that site is awesome.
Salamander has some great options that have a wonderful space for the center channel. That is what you should look for imo.
Unfortunately Salamander is expensive.
I mean I'm sure they make great furniture, but I actually ended up getting something much cheaper for the time being at techcraft.com
