Thanks for the comments. The room is not ideal as it is square 25' X 25', but it was the space I had and eventually I really need some serious accoustic treatments (to cut down on reflections and such). The thing is, no one else but me notices the sound issues as they are relatively minor, however the problems that I hear drive me nuts. I never had a ton of money to throw at this project and so I have been getting it together over the years (when $ would allow) and the accoustic treatments were always going to be one of the last steps. Now with the economy the way it is it may be a while before I complete the puzzle.

The Dark Knight
The Dark Knight is one of the few Blu-rays that make me glad I have a 16:9 Screen. It goes from 16:9 to extra wide and back through out the movie. In the standard DVD you can get it in all full screen or wide screen.
My questions to the projector folks:
Did you go Blu with this one?
If you have a wide screen (as opposed to 16:9) how did you manage it?My Theater:

The opening IMAX rooftop shots were like 3D with my new AE3000. IMO this was the best non-cgi non-digital film I've seen so far on Blu. (especially the IMAX shots)
I am so glad Nolan is shooting the last one using all IMAX cameras.
The jump between 2.35 and 1.78 did not bother me at all. -

I wish you all happy holidays.
I'm planning to have my family over for movies.
I'm thinking a triple feature:
Wall-E
Tropic Thunder
The Dark Knight
How about you?
Are you planning a movie night over the holidays?
What are your show off movies for family and friends? My Theater:

I'm excited that the wife and I are having her friends over tonight to watch Dark Knight. Neither of them have seen it and neither of them have ever seen a proper home theater. So I plan to knock their socks off!

Hey guys. I'm a new poster here and stumbled upon this thread and you all are my heroes
I'm a senior in college and just got into Blu (have had 360 with HD DVD for almost 2 years now). Well, technically I still don't have a Blu-ray player, but come Thursday I will. Anyways, my dream is to own a home with a dedicated home theater. Your guys' rooms are amazing and I have gotten many ideas looking through this whole thread. I have some family friends who, two years ago, finished their home theater. I was going to post some images from when I housesat for them, but I need 10 posts first. They're going to be gone again soon...I'm hoping I get to housesit again!

Went to some other threads to get my post count to 10. Here are some pics:

. Supposedly they have overcome the sound issue that makes it tough to do dialogue with the IMAX cameras.
