Default Mentok has his TV! Nice large pics inside!

I have just purchased my Sharp LC-37GP1U from Buy.com. I paid $1,414.99 for the TV, $149.99 for a 2 year extended warranty and $136.00 for shipping. All in all it cost me $1,700.98.

The TV should arrive next week and I will post pictures and video of me enjoying it right here!

I am giddy with joy and anticipation!

Nice one Mentok. Let us know what you think of the display.

I don't know too much about the Sharp LCD sets, they are certainly not as popular over here as much as the Sony/Samsung/Philips LCD sets are.

You are all gonna boo and hiss, but the first movie I am going to watch in 1080p will be The Fifth Element. (Don't hurt me!)

It was the first Blu-ray I got and I have forced myself to wait until I have my HDTV before I can watch it. Even if the print is not so good there are scenes in the movie that I am very anxious to see in 1080p!

Then I want to try out Tekken 5 DR and Resistance Fall of Man.

Buy.com has said my order is delayed.

But they are going to ship it to me as soon as they can. I think it sucks that they have my $1,700 and that they get to hold on to it while I get nothing. They have said that I can cancel my order, but I would prefer it if they gave me my money back until the actually ship my TV.

I don't know if this is a federal law, or if it's specific to California (in which case it's useless to you)... but I was under the impression that they can't charge you for something until it ships.

I know that amazon won't charge your card (at least they won't charge my card) until they ship the item. It really is a LAW thing... you should look into it Mentok... you could be earning interest on that money while you wait (or not earning interest if it's a credit card).
