Default Dolby TruHD not all That

OK, so I have my Toshiba A-35 and my Onkyo 705. And hey I get the Dolby TruHd to light up on my receiver. AWESOME!!!, But it is only 5.1 surround not 7.1. I can get 7.1 out of the movie set on DD5.1 or DDPlus. I am not all that impressed. Seems like a step backwards to me.
    IMHO!!!

I believe it depends on whether the movie's soundtrack was encoded in 7.1 or not. I also think the 705 can matrix the rear surrounds in case of a 5.1 encode.
Format neutral, but glad it's over.

It can matrix the sound set to DD or DD+, but not Dolby TruHD.

I had to move up to Denon 4308 to get True HD 7.1, but you only get 7.1 if the movie has it encoded, otherwise you can go to matrix.

    Great movie.

Regarding the 7.1 issue, I believe that the 2.8 firmware update for the XA2 added 7.1 bitstreaming with a compatible receiver/processor. This isn't available yet for the A35, but I would be surprised if the next 1-2 updates doesn't pick this up.
