Default Onkyo TX-SR705 Receiver, yes or no?

Does anyone recommend the Onkyo TX-SR705 Receiver? I am considering upgrading my receiver to this one, and hooking it up to my A2 or in the future a Blu Ray SAL.

    definitive YES!

love mine. if cost is an issue, the 605 will give a very similar experience with one less HDMI input and a few other bells and whistles.

amazon sometimes has a lower price, with no tax and free shipping.

yes, good choice. Take a look at the 805 and 605 too. Save a little or spend a little more in case you need some extras, or decide you don't need the extras. The 605 seems to be THE receiver to have.

I got the 705 mainly for the extra HDMI port. I think the extra $100 or whatever will be worth it in the future when you might need that extra port.

For a few bucks you can get a powered HDMI splitter. a 4x1 is like $112, but then it adds 4 more HDMI ports for those people that have multiple players and game systems.

the 705 currently costs like $250 more than the 605 which is quite a sum since i'm saving up for a new subwoofer too.

btw, any lip synch issues? i was reading about it int he AVSForum and it seems like thay devoted an entire faq to fixing the lip synch issues which seems to be a problem with the onkyo receivers

Hmmm I guess on Circuit City is it like $200 more for the 705. That's where I got mine.

Is the 10% off with AAA deal still going on? It might be over but it was a really good deal.

I havn't had any issues with lip synch with HD DVD or with my Cable box.

Not sure on the specs, but my guess is the 705 is eqither equal too, or just 5-10w more than the 605. It's never a very big difference.

Fry's has the 805 in Silver for $699 right now. That's the best deal you will get on it.

That is outstanding. I'd personally prefer the black one...
