Interesting, and tempting. I wonder does it come with software to play the BD movies and if it can be controlled with a remote. Better yet, will it integrate with the Media Center on XP (naturally you probably have to have Vista, yuk). I seriously doubt there will ever be a Linux alternative for highdef playback, there never was until CSS was cracked. But, having that drive along with MythTV could be cool.

Get this drive, the 360 add on, 4x1TB hard disks and start ripping till your hearts content. Never need a disc for a long long time unless you want to check out some extras.

It comes with Cyberlink to play BDs at 1080p over HDMI (if your computer is equipped). If you can control yoru HTPC with a remote you can control this as it's a part of the system.
Yes you can integrate it.
No, there is linux HTPC OS software. You might have to wait a while to get a driver for this BD-ROM though, or write one yourself.
