Need HDTV Advice
I am about to purchase my very own HDTV. I have narrowed down my choices to a Toshi REGZA 42HL167, Sammy LN-T4065F or a Sammy LN-T4061F. I'm mainly going to be using my TV with my Xbox360, watching HD-DVDs via 360 (I have an old 360 so I'll be using component or the VGA cable), and good old DirectTV HD. My room has a lot of light, too many windows, and I've heard that the Sammy LN-T4065 has a glass screen and therefore has a lot of glare. The LN-T4061 has a matte screen but isn't as "good" (according to reviews I've read online). I've also heard the Sammys can take 1080p through the component but the Toshi can't. Is that true? I just wanted to know anyone's personal experiences with these TVs and your recommendations/opinions. Thanks in advance.

1080p cannot be done via component on anything that I know of. I may be wrong. I'd recommend a plasma over an LCD anyday (don't flame me guys!) but since glare is an issue for you I'd go with the 4061f.

Krypton, I was looking at plasmas (a panasonic) and they do look very very nice. But, I've made my final answer and go with supermod on this one..... it's going to be a LCD. I heard LCDs use less power and I'm for saving energy and the environment yea! So I've decided to throw out the Regza and cut it down to two LCDs. Either a Samsung L-NT4065F or L-NT4071F. The 4065 got a good review from CNet and say that it has very nice deep blacks (somewhat comparable to plasmas). So that had me decided. I know the 4071 has the 120 hz feature. What are your guys' opinion on 120 hz? I do watch a lot of sports and action movies and will be playing a lot of Halo 3, COD4, etc. Is it worth it?

71 ez...the 120hz won't elimate motion blur but that's your choice. I've always noticed the motion blur on 8ms LCDs but if you don't notice it then go for it. If you're lookin' at a 71 then you may just wanna check out the Pioneer Kuros plasmas. FYI neither plasmas or LCDs are env. friendly. I saw an article on avs a few weeks ago where England and Austrailia might ban current sets from sale due to energy consumption.
