Very nicely done John! Simple yet very effective. I'm really digging the Blu Ray storage idea... so much so that I may have to use that myself in the future. Any chance you have a link off hand for where you purchased the shelves/the name or company that makes them?

I actually built these myself. Birch plywood then applied a 3/4x3/4 oak strip to fronts to hide the plywood core. I may be taking the base unit apart, the section that holds my receiver, PS3 and Media Center looks weird as its much wider them units.

Looks great! Nice and tidy, I like it. Does the receiver breathe very well in there?

Sweet setup! I never tire of seeing that "Elite" logo in this thread. So classic and timeless(literally). Nice work on the shelving. What I did to hide the wiring in my old apt, was pull up he carpet from the edge and neatly and loosely tack the wires down next to the tack strip. I had a nice bundle of cables that you couldn't see at all and were out of the crush path.

So far no problems. I don't turn it up too much as I am amping the stock pioneer speakers that are on the plasma. Dosent sound to bad and will work till I get some good fronts. I may end up redesigning the whole bottom piece eventually.

Awesome Samaurai sword you have there, and its Blue. Is that to protect the Blu-Ray system?

This is what I'm watching on. Sorry about the flash -- even with lights on, this was best way to take pics.

Here's screen down, lights off but flash still on:

    Equipment:

    Panasonic Viera Plasma 58" 3DTV
    Oppo DBP-93 3D Blu-ray player
    Sony PS3 Slim
    Marantz SR6006 7.2
    Bowers & Wilkins speakers
    Hsu VTF-15H sub (left) & Velodyne Impact-12 w/ low-pass filter at 50Hz for a stronger mid-bass

Hello to All - Here are a few photos of The Frey 3D Projection Theater, I just did a bunch of major upgrades to the basement theater room after 2" of flood water from Tropical Storm Lee poured into my basement last September. My Theater room is L-shaped, 13' x 25' on the theater leg, and 12' x 20' on the snack bar leg - about 600 square feet total. The theater is mostly a DIY project - I constructed the stage, the 2nd-row bar counter, the media racks, all the wall columns, laid the floor tiles, installed 4 20A electrical circuits, and converted an upright freezer into a beer fridge, all myself. Front row seating is 9 feet from the 120" screen (perfect distance for 3D!), and features "Butt shakers" under each of the three sofa seats along with almost 5,000 watts of audio power!

Projection: Epson HC 5010 3D projector, RichVision 120" RF motorized screen
Video: Oppo BDP-93, Pioneer Elite DV-46av, Directv HD23
    Audio: Parasound 7100 processor, Rane SM26 (x2)
Amps: Carver Premier 705av, QSC MX2000a, QSC PL218, Crown Powerbase 1
Speakers: Cerwin Vega 380SE Mains, Infinity SM152 Rears, Premier Accoustic PA-8C Center
LFE: Nuonic ATAK 15", Peavey Dual 18", 3 Clark TST209 Transducers (Butt Shakers) in Sofa

These photos are taken from the homepage of my theater website, http://freytheater.com :

Thanks, kalel! I just added two more photos to my post this morning - one showing the sofa turned over so you can see how the transducers are mounted under the seats, and one showing all my 3D lenticular posters now hanging on the side wall of the theater...

REALLY AWESOME Frey!!! Love the pic of ''the guys'' with their glasses on watching a flick. Don't see any beer though, lol. That is a requirement in my man cave, lol. Trying to quit though (wife thinks I should...kids are getting older, that sort of thing).

Love that Avatar display you have on your screen!! That is really sweet. Your whole man cave is sweet.

I am getting a projector as well(Epson 3010)...but not til November. Going to get the projector, theater chairs (of some sort), and the audio this year. Getting the screen asap next year. Cant get all of the set up this year....too much other stuff to get as well.
    My mancave:

    Display - Sony Bravia 3D 55HX800, Epson 3D 3020 (124")

The guy with his legs crossed is holding a pint of Yuengling Premium, and my pint is sitting on the bar at the empty center seat - no cans or bottles of beer in my theater!

That Avatar image is not on the screen, Taygan - it is an individually-framed 6-sheet poster hanging on the wall behind the screen, visible when the motorized screen is raised... I purchased that poster from an eBay seller in India, got it for just ONE DOLLAR! (plus $24 to ship it here). Unfortunately, I then had to spend over $200 for six 24x36 black aluminum frames to mount the dang thing in, lol...

A home theater setup can be quite a money drainer, especially when you want to be buying all the latest Blu-rays on top of the cost of all the equipment - I've been building my theater up over the last 6 years, and I still have a good ways to go yet to get it the way I want it! Lol, here's a couple pics of my original theater room, in the unfinished basement of my previous house - I've come a long way since then!

My mistake about the beer, lol. Your an oak (little Val Kilmer as Doc Holiday quote from 'Tombstone').

That is really cool that you got that Avatar poster for a buck!

You have come a long way since your previous house. You are to commended for your 6 years of AWSOMENESS towards your home theater. Very impressive Frey, really.
