Used Pronto TSU3000. Be prepared to spend hours programming it. However, it's extremely capable and flexible. It also has RF capability.

I use the Logitech Harmony 880, and it's fabulous. Customer service (i.e., tech support and set-up help) is wonderful and can help you with any issues you might have.
I was so pleased with mine that I bought one for my dad as a birthday gift as well, and managed to program it in less than 15 minutes before I gave it to him--I didn't have a chance to test it beforehand, and it worked perfectly on the first try.
If you want to know whether it will work all of your devices, you can download the software and make sure your stuff is in the database. I wouldn't worry, though. They had tons of manufacturers I've never heard of ever, so I think they must have every device from major manufacturers. -

Along the same subject lines, is there any universal remote that controls the PS3 yet? I know it's not IR, didn't know if there was an adapter (other than some PS2 trick I was reading) or a bluetooth remote or something yet.

I just got a Harmony 1000 the other day off Amazon.com. Not perfect but pretty sweet. I did a quick programming of it but haven't fine tuned it yet. Software to set it up was pretty slick thus far, but again I haven't done any detailed setup yet because it defined most of the "activities" I need already.
As for a PS3 remote, there are some IR ones cropping up that could be used with a universal remote. Example http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/ps3/messi...ign-296396.php -

I will say that I think touchscreen remotes, in general, suck.
It's a 'cool factor' which is great, but otherwise, you have to look at your remote to do 90% of what you want to do. You are most often, far better off by going with a hard button remote that actually delivers all the buttons you need.
In that case, both Harmony and Universal Remote Control deliver products that actually do what you want and don't require you to look at the remote everytime you want to turn to a new channel, or adjust the volume.
PS3: Nyko has a product called the Blu-Wave remote control. It can't power the PS3 on/off, but it does offer control of Blu-ray playback quite nicely. I think it's under 20 bucks from Amazon.com - and I have it hooked up via a Crestron control system without issue at all.
I strongly suggest you go pick up a couple of touchpanel remote controls and try to use it without looking at it... Then think about whether you want to have to do this for the next few years! -

Don't own it, but sold it many times. The Harmony 1000 is a great design and slick implementation. It takes everything great about the 880 and adds the uber-cool touch-screen like a GPS.

Love The Harmony Remotes. The software is great. You simply tell the software what model everything is, what imputs it uses on the stereo and tv and it sets the tv and stereo to the right imputs. LOVE IT. My 880 replaced 8 remotes. I had a touchscreen sony remote, but i hated having to look at the remote to operate it. Hard button remotes are so much easier. I can get over the "Cool" factor of a touchscreen remote. Amazon is super cheap for these. When i bought it i paid $150 when at best buy it was going for $250. Amazon rules.
