Onkyo Receiver, Energy Sub problem
Hi Everyone,
This afternoon, after years of waiting I finally updated my six year old Yamaha receiver for a Onkyo TX-SR705. It took a while but I finally got it all hooked up but low and behold I can't get anything out of my sub. It's powered up and I get a repsonse when I touch the end of the sub cord to my finger, and it was working yesterday with my old Yamaha receiver...I just can't figure it out. I hooked up my old Yahama sub that I replaced last year just to make sure it wasn't the Energy sub and nothing happened with it either. I've gone through the manual and the on screen setup on the Onkyo and I can't find anythink out the norm. Any suggestions? Thanks.Display: Toshiba 52XF550U

Welllll, let's start with the basics... are you putting the sub cable in the sub output (in the preout section, not over by the dvd section)?
Next, in the speaker setup section of the menu, do you have the subwoofer set as on/yes and speakers set as small?(¯`·._ (¯`·._-=- Fireshoes -=-_.·`¯) _.·`¯) -

Oh well, after scratching my head for 90 minutes I figured it out... I had my speaker wires covering the pre amp input and had the sub hooked into the dvd sub input. I am so embarrassed. All good now though. It is a very nice receiver. The HDMI upconversion looks very good to me. I highly recommend it for those looking for a 1.3a receiver in the $600-700 range. Thanks for trying to help.
