Default Looking for HDMI cable splitters (but not a switch box)...

I have a couple of devices I use HDMI for and like most all tvs I only have 1 HDMI input on my tv. Now what Im looking for is a cable that has a male jack that plugs in to my television that has 2 seperate female lines coming out of the end of it to plug other devices in to.

    (similar looking to this)

I have RCA cables like this that individually plug into the Video/L.Audio/R.Audio ports so Im hoping somewhere has and HDMI version of this

    Thanks

Preeeeeetty sure it can't be done. I know you said no switch, but that might be your only option. Can be had for less than $20.

A splitter usually means 1 input -> 2 ouput, while a switch is 2 input -> 1 output. So you should be looking at a switch. The monoprice 2-input passive switch is one option.

This page has exactly what you ASKED for:
    http://www.monoprice.com/products/su...01&cp_id=10113

    WHEN TO USE THESE DEVICES:
The only time you use splitters is if you are taking a single source, for example, your Cable Box w/HDMI output - and you are sending it to two different displays. This would be like if you had a TV in the basement, and a second TV in another section of the basement. You would split the signal to both locations.

THIS DOES NOT SOUND LIKE WHAT YOU ARE DOING!

What it sounds like you are doing is that you have multiple HDMI sources - Cable, HD DVD, Blu-ray, DVD, etc. and you want to switch them into a SINGLE destination.

If that is what you are trying to do, then you need an HDMI switcher, and this page has the product you need....

You cannot get cable splitter for HDMI like you can get for analog cables. The reason is HDCP. You can only have one "handshake" and with a split cable you need three.

Not sure why you'd want to do that, but knock yourself out!

The point of me wanting a splitter is pure laziness. If Im laying in bed at night and want to watch a dvd I dont want to have to get up and press a "switch" over so that I can view that signal on my tv. Also, I have enough remotes already. I dont really want a splitter even if it does have a control to switch sources at a distance.

With my old RCA jacks I was able to connect, say, my dvd player and Nintendo at the same time (this was awhile ago when tvs only have 1 RCA jack). What was great was that I could be playing my console games and not have to worry about switching any sources over just in case I forgot about it when I went to bed at night.

Id like the same thing to happen with my HDMI ports because I have high definition satellite that I want to connect through HDMI as well as my Oppo dvd player let alone when I finally get an HDDvd player. If I could avoid having to worry about a switch Id be most happy (and more fat I guess)

    Thanks for the help

You can try it, but I would think that it may not work, or may introduce signal degradation. If you want to work on your weight (or gaining thereof), then get a universal remote, and use an IR controlled external switcher. It will give you a perfect HDMI signal where you need it, and get rid of ALL the remote clutter.

I have 7 HDMI and 1 DVI device on my main set and I have to use a combination of HDMI splitters and HDMI switches to accomodate everything.
