    Default What 32" lcd would you recommend for the bedroom?

    I'm in the market for a 32" lcd for the bedroom and want some opinions on what panel would be a good choice. I want the diplay for gaming and watching hi def. My bedroom is approx. 13' x 14' with a viewing distance of around 8'. Also is 1080p worth it for a 32" display?

    At 8', it is recommended you look at 50" or larger set. Of course if you want the smaller screen, look at Sharp, Samsung or Sony.

    Wow, what a coincidence, I just happen to have bought a 32" LCD for my bedroom a few weeks back. It's a Sharp Aquos LC-32D62U. This TV is absolutely the perfect TV for the relatively small size of my bedroom. The HD picture on it thru DirecTv is fantastic. I don't have a 360 or HD DVD player hooked up to it, but I could imagine they would both look great on it. What's almost as good as the picture, is how good it looks hanging on the wall. I'd have to give this LCD a 10 out of 10 and definitely recommend it. I bought it thru barneys_electronics on Amazon market place on a Monday and was watching TV on it by that following Friday night. I also bought this wall mount thru amazon, which works really good with it. Anyway, good luck with your search.

    I'm partial to Samsung for smaller LCD's, but Sharp, Sony, and Samsung use the same factory for their LCD's. You probably wouldn't go wrong with any of those brands.

    Go see the Sony 32XBR4 before you buy anything. There's nothing else like it.

    1080p is definitely not needed for a 32" especially at 8' viewing distance.

    Are you sure about that? I know Sam and Sony do, but Sharp has just sued Samsung and Sony for patent infringement on their LCD technology.

    This is the general consensus that I have heard and agree with. These three manufacturers are leading the pack. Samsung has really stepped things up lately with their processing I think as Sony used to look much better even though they both came out of the same facilities. Now they look very close and Sharp has always looked very good.

    There are about 100 other brands - most of which I wouldn't touch if quality was my first priority over price. In my son's playroom price was the first concern and the Olevia 32" LCD looks like ass in there, but he likes it.

    at 8 feet on a 32 you would only see a slight benefit over 720p i have a 32 sharp 1080p but sit like 4 feet from it but if just having 1080p is important and you want it for gaming the Sharp LC-32GP1U is a good bet
    HDTV = Sharp Aquos LC32-GP1U
    Blu-ray Player=Playstation 3
    HD DVD Player=HD-A20
    = 230
    Latest Purchases = Traffic, Army of Shadows, 12 Angry Men
    = 15
    Final Purchase = Into the Wild

    If it was between Samsung and Sony, I think I'd go with Samsung. They're cheaper and standard def signals look better on them. Don't know why Sony's SD image sucks.
