Just bought a 60" Panasonic Viera P60GT50....thoughts?
So I went into Best Buy almost sure I was walking out with either a Samsung LED or Sharp LED.....then I landed on this TV. I have never owned a plasma but I liked what I saw at the store.
What is everyone's opinion of this TV/model? Did I make the correct choice? The TV was on sale for 1899.00....exactly what the Sharp LED cost. Samsung I would of had to settle for a 55" at that price. -

If you like it....thats all that counts. Cant go wrong with a Panny plasma. GT50 got really good reviews. Great price you paid. I think you did great. I'm sure you will enjoy your new purchase.

We havent gotten the GT50 where I work yet, if they are anything like the GT30s you made the best buy for a TV you could possibly make. Barely inferior to the VT series for a grand less. Incredible picture quality for any price.
You did good going to a plasma. Good plasmas absolutely crush LEDs that are twice the price picture quality wise. -

I think Panny Plasma's are great. I own a 55" ST50 (the 2012 model just below yours) and think the picture quality is fantastic. I'd only go with LED if I had a room with a ton of windows and was pretty much constantly really bright.

I have the 55" and love it. My only advice is to use the built in "Game" mode if you play a lot of games. I found the calibrated settings I programmed led to some image retention issues when I would leave the game paused for long periods of time (I have kids...). Once I switched to the Game mode, I no longer have issues with retention. The Game mode is a little darker though, so I switch back to the Calibrated settings when I watch a BD.

Great choice. If budget was really on your mind the st would have been fine.
Plasmas are superior to Leds. It boggles my mind at how many people still don't know that, and are willing to pay more for a smaller screen and worse picture. The only thing I like leds better for is animated movies. -
