I still have my Mitsubishi WS-55315 crt. The thing comes with a Black Enhancement feature. The only description it gives is this:

"The contrast in dark scenes is enhanced for better picture quality. Brighter scenes will not be affected".

I can't tell what the IRE is on this tv to begin with, so i'm not sure if this drops it to 0 from 7.5 or if it just enhances 7.5, or 0 or what.

anyone have any info on this model tv and which way i should have the "black enhancement" set? i usually avoid features with the word "optimizer" or "enhancement" since it sounds like a gimmick or an artificially produced mode.
