    1. The rechargable glasses have a sealed battery in them; once that battery dies, shorts out, or burns up, which it could do at any given time, you're screwed - can't change the battery out without damaging the glasses, so you're left with a $100 pair of trashcan fodder.

    2. Imagine you have 6 or 8 pair of rechargable glasses for your projector (I have nine pair already) and they all need charged before the evening's movie night crowd arrives - think of the pain in finding enough available wall outlets for all those charger units and physically hooking them all up to charge the glasses...

    3. When a battery goes dead in the Epson glasses, just pop in another in two minutes with a phillips eyeglass screwdriver - one screw. The coin batteries are supposed to last about 80 hours, or about 40-50 3D movies per battery - That's a lot of 3D movies to watch before the battery needs replaced. In six months I have not changed-out a single battery in any of my glasses yet.

    4. The coin batteries for the Epson glasses can be had for as little as 30 cents a piece, and have a storage shelf life of 10+ years - I bought a lot of 50 Sony batteries on eBay for $16.00... that should be enough batteries to last me 7-8 years at least... I'll have sold the projector and upgraded long before that!

Can you find these particular batteries at a Target, Wal-mart, or some other retail store or do you have to find them online??

The CR2032 are the most common size coin battery on the market - you can buy them anywhere, but you'll get the best pricing online... if you go to a hardware store or the drug store and just buy one battery, you might pay $3.50 for it, so better to buy in bulk! Someone had told me either the Dollar Store or Dollar Tree sells these coin batteries 3 for a dollar, so about the same price I paid for mine per battery... but I think those were some off-brand kind from China that won't last nearly as long as namebrand Sony, Energizer, or Duracell batteries... on eBay you can buy battery lots pretty much in any amount you want, usually in increments of 5... I just bought 50 at a time because I own 9 pairs of glasses; plus, the larger the lot, the cheaper they are per battery, generally.

My comment never went through, but it was basically the same answer Frey gave.

I had a link to the settings I used, but mods must not have allowed it.

    Good to know. Thanks Frey.

I am so pathetic, lol. I have been taking my son's iPod with me to work (never done this before) just to watch the videos I took of the 3010 in action (clips of TransformersSOTM, Avatar, and POTC:OST). Cant wait to GET IT BACK (sob lol).

My boss told me that some major overtime might be kicking in next month (and it generally carries over to the end of the year) so hopefully this will allow me to increase my funds a bit and I may be able to get the 5010. Still a ways off...we shall see.

Cool! If you can actually cover the difference, I think you'd be much happier with the 5010... there are quite a few image improvements with the 5010 over the 3010, not just the benefit of the lens shift option. But, there are no built-in speakers on the 5010, and you don't get any glasses with it...
