Pansonic's VT50 Wins the Value Electronics HDTV Shootout
Three plasmas and three LED sets went head-to-head and Panasonic came out on top.

I was just looking at various searches and video of the VT50 this morning. I have finally put to rest any idea of getting a projector and now strongly considering the 65VT50. Not going to happen til the end of the year (have to save up).

Oh no this is going to upset the Sharp Elite people.
Should be some interesting replies to this on how the shootout was fixed & how they prefer plasmas.Semper Fidelis (Always Faithful)

I'm currently trying to decide between the 65 inch VT30 and the new 55 inch VT50. They are running about the same price on Amazon right now ($2500). I think I'm actually going to go with the 55 inch VT50.

Nah, I don't think their numbers are that strong. Most of us "real" Elite people have moved on with the fact that there will never be another Pio Elite, no matter what generation we own.
Results were not surprising though, the Elite showed all the issues that have been floating around since it was released. Which makes me wonder how much "Elite" is actually in there other than the name? The slug fest really comes down to the Panny VT's and the Sammy 7/8K's. Too bad they left out the Sony 929/850 series both are serious options to the $5-8K Elite.Theater: JVC X30; Denon AVR3313CI;DefTech's (1)CLR2500 (2)BP7002 (2)BP1.2X (Sub)VK-12; Mac Mini (8)TB Media Storage; Sony S390 (3D BD) XBOX360 Slim, Sony CX960 (400 BD changer)

They've got the full results now. The Elite actually won out in both black level and contrast ratio, so I'm sure no one will be too horribly upset at the results. The VT50 killed it in color accuracy though.
