They're going to have to figure something out. They made a huge mistake by riding their name while charging premium prices and allowing competition like Samsung and Panasonic (and sharp et al) to come in and dominate the LED/LCD and Plasma sets.

Now they have to figure out how to come back from behind, and you certainly can't do that by saying "I'm sony, so please pay my 15-20% markup"

That said, my fiances grandma of all people recently bought a 55" LED set and it's one of the most beautiful TVs I've ever seen.
Currently Playing: Uncharted 3, Zelda: Skyward Sword
    Back Burner: LBP2, LA Noire
    Just finished: Anno 2070 (PC)
Home Theater: Panasonic PT-ae4000u, 110" Carada Brilliant White Screen, PS3
Gaming PC: I5 2500k, GTX 670, 8GB Gskill 1600 RAM, 64 GB Patriot SSD, Samsung BD Drive

I'd like to have them sell their music division to Universal. That way we could get some SACDs of Sony Music artists.

You know, I havent seen it in about a year so I couldn't tell you. The thing is paper thin and puts off a beautiful, vibrant picture without even being calibrated. High quality stuff. I gave her an old blu-ray player of mine so she could watch films in high def.

Add to that a 'down economy' for someone who produces luxury item electronics and a devastating Yen to Dollar/Euro? Yep - rock and hard place.
