    Oh yes, most def....

    Vertical bracers cut (65"):

Because the screen is a biggy (122"), I needed longer wood (ha!). Being the cheapo that I am, I ended up just splicing the extra length onto a standard 1x3x8' piece.

    The outside frame assembled. BIG!

Vertical bracers fitted into place but not secured:

Corner brackets glued and screwed into place:

Pic for scale. Should be a beaut! Sintra sign board ordered (5x10' piece), velvet coming in Tuesday, and paint being mixed on Wednesday. Should be up in time for hockey playoffs! Then the hard work begins!

Oh FOR SURE! LOL. It'll be up and operational this week...sound too. But it'll be bare-bones. No sound treatments or cosmetic work done on the fireplace......but for viewing, it'll be ready!

Molding for the border. 1x4. I always go molding for the borders because its straighter, so no matter what you did for the frame or screen, a perfectly square border will frame your image perfectly, everytime:

Both sides of the french cleat to hang the screen. One beam goes on the wall (fireplace), other goes on the back of screen. They fit together like lego:

Screen framing all done. Just add the Sintra whiteboard, then attach the black border and 1/2 the french cleat:

Damn Favelle. Looks nice bud. I dont have the patience or the smarts really (especially stress on PATIENCE...not a virtue I have unfortunately, lol). I am the kind a guy you get when you need something hauled or lifted (use to work for a moving company in my younger years and I am a kind of a big guy: 6'1, 285lbs). Your doing great. Cant wait to see the finished product.

Look forward to seeing a pic of it. By the way..I want to thank you for posting these pics of your progress (in particular your screen build). I am taking notes for future reference in case I do get a projector later in the year. Looking forward to you installing the screen onto the frame and putting the frame up on the wall.

Decided to sell the Epson 8350. I wanted to go DLP for a while and for $640, brand new, I couldn't pass up an Optoma HD20. Not really an upwards move from the 8350, but for what I sold it for ($1100), I was able to get the Optoma, pay for all my cables, pay for all the materials for the screen, and STILL have $300 left over to blow on any crap I want. Worth it IMO.
