Question on settings for Panasonic Plasma and PS3
I recently upgraded from a Sony LCD projection (from 2005) to a Panasonic Viera Plasma TC-P46S30. The Sony TV was 720p native (also supports 1080i) and I thought streaming SD content from my computer to my PS3 looked decent. On the new plasma, I've noticed the dark scenes in SD content look worse... a lot of blocky/pixelated areas, specifically in space scenes in Battle Star Galactica. I'm just suprised that it's such a big difference. I don't understand why this didn't stick out on my other TV. Are there any video settings on either the PS3 or Panny that would make the SD content look better? I've tried messing around with them, but the only thing that helped was making it darker, which made it too dark overall.
I really like my new Panny plasma. I notice a big difference in contrast levels and blu-rays look considerably better in 1080p. I'm just disappointed that SD content looks worse. Makes me want to upgrade to the blu-ray set for BSG.
