It looks like they didn't include HDMI ports.

This is a two channel preamp for audiophiles who probably would not use a HDMI cable even if this were a surround unit. In fact, the whole article was about stereo equipment. I've been a Mac user for a loooong time, and I use both two channel and multi channel Mac gear...their commitment to long term quality is unbelieveable. I have some 40 (yes 40) year old Mac gear (transistor) that still sounds so beautiful that I keep it just to listen occasionally. Yea, I'm an audio guy at heart.

Quite true... It is a two-channel job and you are exactly right about the HDMI bit... I didn't even read the article, I just noticed that it didn't have HDMI and, this being a video site, I pointed out the absence of HDMI. I should have been more attentive.

Thats awesome! My father is a Mac guy as well and just gave me his old Mac 2100 stereo amplifier. It still sounds amazing after 30 years.

Really not sure why this is news on a High Def website. I mean I know McIntosh is top of the line equipment for audiophiles. But these devices are strictly for listening to music.

Because audio can be high definition, or high resolution. Also, this product can be used within in a surround sound system.
