What about their HD DVD offering or are they just going to put out a dual format player?

this is a BD player as of those specs. no dual format.

looking at their site, no HD DVD offering either (yet...).

They are releasing a Blu-ray player. I see no mention of HD DVD or dual format players on that site. Can you post a link to illustrate what you're talking about?

I wonder if the blu-ray fans are going to call this Blu-ray Player "Cheap Chinese Junk", like they called the idea of a Chinese HD DVD Player?

it's going to be cheap chinese junk (and this is coming from an ethnic chinese).

i wouldn't buy one for my living room. i would rather have something name brand.

i might consider one for my other tv though, if the price is right.

    there, you happy?

I would not buy a cheap Chinese player for either side until the verdict is out on it. From what I have seen so far, the HD formats are much more complex than DVD. Too many bugs all around after one year..

Cant speak for everyone but I think they will be junk, especially the cheaper they are. You get what you pay for...

I guess Iphones, any music with the f word in them, and hybrid cars, make that cars in general aren't mainstream then because Walmart doesn't carry them, hence they COULDN'T POSSIBLY be mainstream

Fozz, How can he post a link to somethiing a company is not doing? The only link is to what they are doing and have announced. This is a logical tie-in to Paid Geeks Target story.

It is cheap Chinese junk, but this player is going to Wal-Mart where people only care about price and not quality... But why does the front say DVD and not Blu-ray?...

Also, why the lack of a HDMI or DVI output? Does it mean this player will be limited to 1080i since AACS does not allow 1080p over component? I thought all Blu-Ray players had to be capable of 1080p.

I swear, today reminds me of V-Day, or the Russian push in the eastern front. or the Chinese explosion out of the Yalu river. I'm actually impressed by the BDA.
