BD dying would affect Sony big time. The next gen console may have to go HD, and that would also hurt the 3 million people would bought it.

Toshi will be making millions from its DVD patents for years to come.
Trust everyone but cut the cards.
I own an HD-A20 and 8 HD titles. Planet Earth is the best, IMHO, and it would be the best even if I had BD.

I have two kids that enjoy watching the Flintstones on whatever format I have. My wife wonders why the hell I care about hidef in the first place.

I want: LoTR, Jurassic Park, Star Wars III and IV, Saving Private Ryan. The rest, I'll rent...might buy Jaws.

I feel if HD DVD were to die out and br would take over then I would have to get all I can on HD DVD and keep buying standard DVDs upscale them on my HD-XA2 until they are no longer available and then hopefully a new format is out and I still wont have to buy BR.

Yes, Sony, number one manufacture of hand held gaming systems. And everyone today has a Sony walkman and downloads songs form SonyMusic.

Sony should own the portable music market, via bad management they lost it.

The game system is nice, for 399 bucks, which is what a game system should cost.

Stop thinking the Sony that exists today is the same Sony that existed 20 years ago.

They have great engineers; MDisc was great. But their DRM crazyiness ruins it all.

/Sony Tech should SPLIT from Sony Entertainment and focus on tech

The XA2 is a great upscaler, on par with the oppo, so you'll get YEARS of joy out of it because SDVDs will own the market for years.

Dual Format for the Win. I've covered my bases.

I'd prefer HD-DVD to win but if it doesn't, by that time there will be an affordable Dual format player that will play both my Hi Def libraries.

Even if Sony never sold another ps3 or br disc they could probably walk away better than you think.
