Bummer - but since EB/GS is coming up short then I would tend to believe this number. I figured EB/GS took Sony's number, knocked about 25% off of that, and presold the rest. When reality hit, they were still coming up short by about 33% of what they had presold, which puts Sony down by at least 50% of announced numbers.
Ouch! This sucks for Blu-ray and Sony. It will still be very interesting to see how it performs as a BD player. Early reports are positive, but mean pretty darn much nothing. -

Well looking at the Gamestop fiasco that number may be believeable. If true though, the knives will be out for Sony!
Worse though, is the impact it may have on the European launch i.e. delaying it further.
