    Good grief.

    If you in your "infinite wisdom" can find any other example of me ever using +1 you would have a leg to stand on, but you can't so you don't. Were as it is a phrase that you turn on a consistent basses.

    Close Encounters uses the same master elements, with different cuts/edits applied through seemless branching. In the case of Blade Runner though the "Workprint" version was not mastered from the same restored version as the Theatrical/Director's Cut/Final Cut version (all three seemless on disc 1 I believe). Since the "Workprint" version was encoded from an entirely different source it does not share a single frame of content with the other versions of Blade Runner, hence the lack of using seemless branching on that version.

    <EDIT>
    Corrections to film versions posted below. Branching issues 100% the same of course.
    </EDIT>

    Have you watched The Pirates Trilogy? They happen to Blow away The Matrix set. I will agree that Eastern Promises looks and sounds outstanding. Look at the Blu for No Country For Old Men, that disc looks better than any HD-DVD I owned.

    The first two pirates look really good, but the third not so good.

    A slight correction. The Final Cut is by itself on disc 1.

    Disc 3 uses seamless branching for the US theatrical, international theatrical, and 1992 Director's Cut.

    Then there's the workprint by itself on disc 5.

    I don't understand how anyone can compare pq on different movies made from different sources with different equipment, media, artistic intentions and filming techniques - suggesting it is somehow related to whatever consumer level high def medium is being used to present it for viewing. This makes no sense to me.

    I don't know about that, I own both and happen to think that both do their jobs very well... I honestly can't pick a fav between the two.

    I disagree about POTC. I only own Dead Man's Chest and it doesn't look better but is a very good disc. Batman Begins blows away Spiderman in every aspect in my opinion. There is no port over argument for Spidey, or was Sony planning on going neutral? I will buy No Country but I really doubt it looks "better" than Eastern Promises.

    I just about busted a gut reading that.

    In Spidey's defence Spidey 3 looks really, really good and Spidey 2 is the best of the bunch (I'm still trying to figure out how that happened).
    I don't care what the white mon say, Santa Clause was a black mon.
