purple people help me with this sale
ok I have HD DVD and Blu Ray. However, money is tight for me. I decided that HD DVD is going to lose. So I thought at this point I should only buy blu. But now amazon has the sale on red titles and I am not sure I was going to buy 2 blus with some of my tax money. I just want to know if anyone really thinks that buying reds is still good as far as hd dvd not going under in the next year or so? I am more worried about my player breaking in a year or two and having 40 or 50 hd dvd titles and only being able to buy a used player at ebay. for example, laser disc players are still very high

I am considering getting another HD DVD player at some point just so I can have a backup for when the time comes. I still don't know how long-lasting these players will be since I've had some bad luck with my Toshibas already.
Did the primary buffer panel just fall off my gorram ship for no apparent reason?! -

I've decided that future purchases of dual formats will probably be Blu. At the same time, I will not hesitate to purchase HD exclusives that I want on HD. If anything, come 6 months from now, you'll probably be able to pick up an A30 or the like for near $100. At that point, I may upgrade my current HD player and box the A2 up so I have an extra for if one breaks. I've got nearly 70 HD discs though, so that might make more sense to me than you.

Buy the movies if you want. You still have the player. And it'll still play the movies. A good deal is a good deal.
However, if you DIDN'T have a player, than one would be a little more safe to choose Blu-Ray than HD DVD.Please Post Responsibly. If necessary, use a designated poster.

I would say if every thing is equel price, buy the Blu-ray.
Well if the movie is only in HD DVD, then buy the HD DVD.
I would say buy the Blu-ray version when ever you can. -

If you plan on keeping your player than of course you should buy those movies. the only titles you should contemplate on getting are the ones available on both formats.

Tough call.. but I'd take in everyone's points here and make a decision based on that since this thread isn't plagued with purple people eaters. Though I still think Blu is the more futureproof one considering recent developments. If Blu wins and that HD-DVD player breaks after they clear out stock, I doubt you'll find another HD-DVD player on the market. And I'll face facts. It's pretty much drawing to an end.
