hd dvd HD DVD superbowl add.. what do you think?

the super bowl just ended and most of us were really excited to see an ad that was really going to make a difference.. unfortunately, most of us didn't even get to see the ad, and the people who did said it was not even new..
i am going to support as long as they are around!

nevertheless, what do you guys think?

It was the one featuring Transformers. It was the old one, I mean its an OK ad, but nothing special.

They did at least feature the new price of 149.

It aired right after the end of the first half.

There was no national ad. If they paid they should get a refund because it didn't play in my market and is not on the MySpace page. It was a regional campaign.

You need a middle option, like I am happy it aired or something.

I am truly dissapointed. The thing is that during the superbowl is when ad companies really put their A+ stuff out there. Chiatt Day (major advertising firm) spends over 4 and a half months of prep for the ads that they work on.
So the commercials in the superbowl need to be superb and have a lot of pizzazz (sp?). The Toshiba one was really dull and flat. It didn't entice people. And in SOME regions where it was shown, it was ONLY shown in SD. Terrible for those areas.

I'm happy with the ad, I can't say I am thrilled but there was no other option and the others didn't apply to me. It was a good idea with the family watching football with friends. Good movies shown, and the pricing at the end.

more people are going to attack that comment than talk about the pole, so my advise to you would be get a decent pair of glasses and give me the link to the AVS post so i can tell that guy to do the same

the add took place during the half time show like two commercials after tom petty performed.

2-3 million for one commercial spot

Toshiba put up the white flag, to continue investing in that format is foolhardy at best.

The ad didn't show up locally, but I saw the link - it really doesn't matter much now.

Waste of money for Toshiba if it actually has been done - maybe that is why its only in Limited market - because Toshiba is being smart about it.
