With iTunes getting ready to offer HD Downloads, rentals of course, I will rent and watch Paramount and Uni movies on my AppleTV. As for the rest it will be Blu-ray all the way. I will no longer support studios that are too stubborn to see reality. I mean there are only two movies I would buy on the HD-DVD side so it really makes no sense for me to get them.

My HD-DVD player will eventually end up in my Junk closet with my other video game systems and will only be looked at for nostalgia purposes.

Hey... I can make up completely pompous non-fact based theoretical opinion posts nearly as fast as you!!
Problem is that the fact that Universal and Paramounts does not help HD-DVD. It only hurts the format.

More than ten days since Warner announced Blu-ray exclusivity. All the other studios were showing and announcing new their titles at CES besides Universal and Paramount. The other studios have continued to announce titles after CES and Warners Blu-ray-exclusivity. Hey, Warner have even announced a new title for HD-DVD.

Universal and Paramount are VERY quiet, except for Paramount's delaying of titles...

Since you didn't see it (yeah right) in the "I am Legend" thread:

Paramount' Beowulf Director's Cut exclusively on HD DVD 2/26

American Gangster set for 2/19 on HD DVD
American Gangster set for 2/19 on HD DVD

Bee Movie set for 4/11 on HD DVD
Paramount officially announces "Bee Movie"

And I repeat myself :

There's like 3-4 titles in that list that I want. 1 is Blu-ray (Sunshine) while the others are either HD DVD or dual format... Glad I have both players but I think I'll be renting more than buying. I'm not paying $25-35 a title when eventually I can get them on sale for 10-15 or BOGOed... if a BOGO ever happens again.

Shit, if HD DVD does in fact die... I'll GLADLY buy HD DVDs at clearance pricing!

Reading comprehension problems I see, I have clearly stated that's my personal opinion... but I see now only the Bluboys are entitled to express an opinion

Thanks for clearing that up: you should let that know to the mods so they can make it a sticky at the top of the forum and none will then come to disturb your careful orchestrated back-patting circle of friends.

My bad carry on into your bright Blu future

Not one of those titles are announced after Warner going Blu-ray. Beowulf and Bee was announced earlier and American Gangster have not been announced yet. I repeat my self: Paramount and Universal have not announced any new release after Warner announced they would go Blu-ray.

I can also repeat for the third time that American Gangster have been rumoured to be released but has not got any official announcement yet. Why do Universal and Paramount hesitate? Last announcement was December 31. An announcement was done January 4, just before Warners announcement, of a new Universal title but Universal said they would not release this disc on HD-DVD....

And I'd like to point out that it'll be on region-free Blu-ray everywhere else, thanks to Warner owning the int'l rights.

The source I have says to expect Hitman on 3/18. Admittedly, it's just rumors, so if you have a definitive source, I defer:

Thanks. If studios are going to move titles ahead like Warner and Fox are doing, I'm not complaining!

I'd like to point out that I can buy and watch ALL OF THE HDM TITLES LISTED if I so choose!

If I didn't have an HD DVD player I would be missing the HDM versions of:

Elizabeth: The Golden Age
American Gangster
Beowulf
Into The Wild
Things We Lost In The Fire
Bee Movie
Jack Ryan Collection
(Now announced for first Quarter)

It will be a pleasure to enjoy those titles in all of their high definition goodness!!!

Oh, BTW, I just watched Zodiac, which is also a 1st quarter release exclusive to HD DVD (January 8, which deserves to be listed on the OP's first message)! EXCELLENT movie!! Incredible high def transfer!! Check out the HDD Review!
