Default HD DVD Email From Warners (more HD DVD coming)

Well WB does listen and they responded to an email that i sent them

Quote:
Dear Sam:

First of all, thank you for your support of Warner Bros. and for our films in the new HD DVD format, as well as the existing SD DVD format. As you have pointed out in your note, there have recently been on-line discussions claiming that Warner Home Video is holding titles back from the marketplace in the HD DVD format due to plans in BD, and that this is now a company policy. Regardless of the source of this information, it is not true.

Warner Home Video is releasing titles in both high definition formats, and where possible we try to release a title simultaneously in both formats. But this is not always the case, and in fact since we released our first titles in April, 2006 there have been some titles that have been released in HD DVD before BD, and some that have been released in BD before HD DVD.

There are many factors that determine the timing for the release of a motion picture in DVD, HD DVD, and BD. We currently have released more titles in HD DVD than any other studio, and we are anticipating a very exciting schedule for the rest of 2007. In the month of January 2007, we released 4 new titles in HD DVD.

We hope you will enjoy our upcoming HD DVD releases, including two of our best movies from last year (and both recognized with multiple Academy Award nominations), THE DEPARTED and HAPPY FEET, which will be released in February and March 2007, respectively.

We also expect to announce shortly some title plans for April and May. The titles will be quite a thrill for all HD DVD owners and supporters.

Best regards.

What a load. We know from the European releases that there are titles available in HD-DVD (Harry Potter as an example) that are not being released in the US. Warner also admitted back in December that they were holding back HD-DVD releases in the US until they worked out the issues with Blu-Ray..

i will be sending Universal one and see if i can snatch up some title release from them...

If you know who to send the email and how to send an email you always get a response

you know if HD dvd was dead or going to lose wouldn't Paramount and Wb have just traded off , they could easly get out of any contract on the grounds that HD DVD is dead , And So could universal as well.

A major title(s) are coming HD DVD only , just wait till WB announces for April/May

Hopfully Warner's has or is getting impatient with the BD-J status that they will release all their available titles with IME onto HD DVD without anymore delays.

I really hope so.. But I am not holding my breath.. I am getting really fed up with the movie studios to be honest. There are very few movies that I am willing to see at the theater anymore, and now that don't seem to want my money with HD-DVD..

It's a good thing I have my 360 for video games and I enjoy watching sports in HD (along with 24, Heroes, Amazing Race, and several other great TV shows)..

They must be taking notes from politicians on PR, because that is one of the least informative responsives I've seen. Nowhere do they say whether or not they're going to keep titles (especially those mentioned last month) exclusive to HD DVD, or what their plans are. In fact, outside of the first paragraph, one could do a search-and-replace with "BD" in place of "HD DVD" and you'd have much the same information.

Agreed. Pretty canned response if you ask me. Well, I guess we will have to wait to see what happens..

I agree in the sense that until an actual announcement is made, I don't really count on anything. But still, I like to hear if something is coming

Are they releasing IME-less versions on Blu-ray? Are they removing IME from HD DVD? Are they going to release one before the other? Those were the questions asked and still remain unanswered.

My gut feeling tells me we will get a few new releases for both formats, and none of the titles will be of major significance.. But, we shall see...
