Really, do I even have time to look at a PS3? I've been really tempted to sell it even though I don't want to because I won't have time to watch movies OR play games in the next four months at least.

Congrats ! However you will have some time to play with your PS3 if you can find the energy. They sleep alot when they are newborns. In four months is when they will be keeping you busy.

Hey, well congratulations on the truly important news in your life ! Admittedly not getting the PS3 on launch day seems secondary to the joy of a new family member

It's official... kind of. The EB that I preordered from called this evening to let me know that according to their current expected shipment numbers, they are only getting something like 10 of 16 units in. The manager there is awesome and I KNOW the in-store employee models are numbers 15 & 16... But, I am one position out of getting mine on opening day.

As I said - I'm a bit bummed on that.

Ah well - Yes, I agree that EB should not sell preorders that won't be fullfilled, but if the estimate post is correct then actual delivery numbers are going to be well under expected numbers, and EB is getting about 50% of what they were told. This would put it in line with them being fairly conservative on their original pre-sales - and still getting jacked a good bit. I do NOT hold EB responsible and I am hopeful that more PS3s are in shortly (within a couple of weeks?) so that I do get it soon.

Off-topic, but many many congrats mate! We are expecting our first at the end of Februray (just in time for the PS3 launch here) so, like you, probably won't get a chance to play it for a good six months after!
