I think that pales in comparison to the large quantities of A2's requiring the moth balls be blown off of them before playing. 6 20GB sounds a little high. Sounds like Sam's doesn't have a good inventory system. If they don't sell at location A move to B and see how it goes.

Yeah Sam's is still trying to sale the 2.6 billion dollars worth of inventory Sony is trying to get rid of since March of this year.

Can't wait for that stockholder's meeting.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall for that one.

Whats wrong with Made in China?

I guess you guys are too young to remember when Made in Japan meant that some something was cheap junk. Now it means a quality electronic product.

I hate to tell you this but China is the new Japan.

Besides who cares what the build date is...this isn't milk...it's not going to go bad!

Anyone remember when we thought "Made In Taiwan" meant questionable quality? "made in China" makes that look like quality german engineering.

everything i buy, gadget-wise, i look for made in anywhere but china

Not really, I say solid evidence that "some" on the Blu side are using anything and everything to bash HD DVD yet again...yawn.

Stocking half a million more players than you could sell when you know the player will be superceded long before selling that much would be a pretty daft idea. The only way I see that could happen is if they completely overestimated how many A2s they were going to have sold by the time A3 hit shelves.
If the PS3 sold 5mil, and HD DVD only 300K, why are Blu-movies only outselling HD DVD by 2:1? Shouldn't it be 17:1 with those numbers? Seems to me, Blu-Ray should be a lot further ahead than they are. Actually, Blu-Ray is behind if HD DVD has to sell 17 movies to Blu-Rays 1, just to keep up. Blu-Ray is currently only selling 2 for every 1 HD DVD movie.

Your broken record about PS3 attach rates has nothing to do with this thread. We were debating stock.

I bought two (2), both made in China. The one I opened had an August 2007 date. Too recent for my tastes... I want to see if Toshiba has shot it's wad this past weekend or if we can expect continuing salvos of dirt cheap A2s/A3s throughout the holiday season. I may return one or both units depending on "estimated viability" of the format in the coming weeks.
