Default Shrek characters promoting HD DVD in TV ads!

Shrek characters Donkey and Gingy and Dreamworks Animation are promoting HD DVD in new television commercials that started airing today!!!

Here's the Donkey one:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAYxYxn3iTA

And the Gingy one:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PxuJDgxIpR8

Those, combined with WalMart's TV ad (see my signature) will help to greatly increase HD DVD awareness!

Hats off to Toshiba and the HD DVD group for some very aggressive marketing (and pricing) for this Holiday season!

Great move by Toshiba and the HD DVD Promotional Group! It certainly will secure the k-9 demographics for them.

Like that doesn't matter? Where does that put Disney's films, which let me remind you, are targeted towards this very segment you try to denigrate. Besides Shrek is more of a 16+ target audience.

Great commercials, I love that beautiful new Toshiba REGZA Super Narrow Bezel 42" HDTV in the background.

Who distribute Apolcalypto, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, etc? Are these children film? Man, you are just too easy. Shrek is more a 16+ film! Thanks for the laugh! I glad to know where you stand in regards to film taste.

BTW: I notice you veer off subject a lot. You can't really mention Disney unless Disney uses a cartoon character like Buzz Lightyear or Micky Mouse to promote Blu-ray. That would be an analogous situation. Then again, I might be hoping too much for you to catch the subtleties of a debate.

I am a proud and loyal consumer of the Walt Disney Company, I know every single release and own several of them on Blu-ray. You missed my point, but since you didn't enter this thread to actually contribute anything - as you rarely seem to do anyway - I won't even bother trying to explain further.

I know it's just too much to expect even an ounce of tact or diplomacy from you, instead every post from you is litered with flame bait. Thanks though.

those films you mention belong to miramax and dimesionon or touchstone

you should be clear are you talking about Disney ???? or are you talking their affliates?

See NEw line is it's own indy studio that distributes films within WB but when you talk new line and u talk wb they are two different studios

Now those films like apocalypto and kill bill your right those Films are going to sell HUGE ON HD MEDIA except they are small lol

now had u said cars and ratoullie then u had something cause that is what he was refering to..

Since disney is adversting CARS more then anything....but why cause u know that is the K-9 demographic....

Yeah all I was saying was do not impugn/belittle that demographic, because it's a vital one for one of Blu-rays most viable partners: Disney. Thanks for your input.

Disney distributes or own the rights to those films ...thats why you will only going to see them on Blu-ray in North America.

They are advertising Cars and Ratatouille ...they are not using Lightning McQueen or Remy to promote Blu-ray. See the subtle difference? Nice try though.

Yawn ...I see you have no response. Have you seen Mickey Mouse promoting Blu-ray on tv yet? Wait for it ...wait for it.

Well ...keep waiting. Then maybe you will have an actual point.

Maybe they haven't used them because they haven't thought of it yet?
Maybe it's that simple.

Maybe the marketing people at Disney actually know what they are doing? Maybe using childish cartoon characters to promote HD hardware to decision making adults is not the brightest idea in the world ...have you thought about that?

Mickey Mouse childish? He is a global icon, everyone loves Mickey. He convinces millions of adults to go to Disney Theme Parks around the world. Shrek is also iconic. Adults LOVE Mickey Mouse, I think a MM Blu-ray commercial would be amazing. You don't love the Mouse that started it All?
