Default Warner's vice president of High-Definition hinted going BLU-RAY ONLY

"But Home Media Magazine reports that Silverberg believes that Blu-ray may be winning the format war and, consequently, it may be time for the studio to pick one over the other."

“We can definitely talk Blu-ray,” he said. “We are committed to the format.”

Great if true.
We need one format sooner , rather than later unless we want another sa-cd/dvd-a nitchie only fiasco on our hands.
If Warner goes Blu exclusive, this is great news for all HD fans as it will end this silly pillow fight, and the better format wins out for a nice change.

So if a HD-DVD fan posts that Warner is going HD-DVD exclusive {with no evidence} it's ok, but if a Blu-Ray fan posts {with no evidence but evidence enough to slightly counter any HD-DVD only claims} it's fanboyism and worthy of being closed down?

Right, if you can't stick to the topic, why post?

Back on-topic, I don't think they're going anything exclusive, it doesn't make sense {then again the Paramount thing didn't make sense either} Warner has turned down offers from both sides to remain neutral and will likely remain so, because they're probably the only studio making money on the format war right now.

It's news, there are quotes in the article from a Warner studio Vice President.

Unless you are hinting that the whole article is a lie and Dan Silverberg didn't say those things...

We already have several topics discussing it, is why. And the topic "Warner: Going Blu-ray exclusive?" was moved, see it's still on page one. No need for additional topics on the same subject.

If they go Blu exclusive, I hope it's with solid profile 1.1 details, like my PS3 will work with it.

If I haven't misread the articles quoted in the last little, I'd say WB is telling both sides(the consumers on both sides) that they are going exclusive soon... The confusing bit is that they're stating it about both BD & Hd dvd.

It almost seems like a choice between ending the format war or short term profit. January is going to be an exciting month!

Fox yesterday said the PS3 will get an update to allow 1.1 profile discs to play properly.

I get the feeling that the 1.1 firmware update for the PS3 may not be imminent though. If no 1.1 titles are coming out before January then there really isn't a need now for a 1.1 firmware?
