You lucky bastards!

I have 10Mbps here in Vegas with Cox, but even tapping the newsgroups you don't get anywhere near that speed.

I do if I am hitting say, Microsoft's servers, then it will peak at 10-12Mbps....

Amazing how in America we can be ahead in some areas, but so far behind in others....Like Widescreen TV's and Cell Phones....

doby try harder. Since when does a consumer care about cracked movies? DVD sells better now because it was cracked. I don't think this will last but facts are AACS has been compromised and that effects both formats.

No, but there are Blu-ray burners. Theoretically with the new LG drive you could rip a HD DVD movie to the HDD and burn it onto Blu-ray.

I agree it is only a matter of time before both formats are fully decoded and duel burners are freely available. It makes this format war look all the more ridiculous as soon you could go to your local Blockbuster, hire out that HD DVD exclusive Universal movie and burn it onto Blu-ray for playing on the PS3. It could work in reverse but might be a bit harder as going from HD DVD to Blu-ray would require some movies to be compressed down from 50GB to 30GB.

Please explain the leap in logic there.

Apparently the VC-1 encoding on HD DVD is a little different than it is on Blu-ray, or at least that's what Amir said. But he also said that the BD50 disc was fictional, so...
