Default Blockbuster Blu Ray move insignificant

That is what Ken Graffeo is saying:

    http://www.bit-tech.net/news/2007/06...kbuster_move/1

Interesting fact in the article says that only 30% of PS3s are connected to a HDTV.

    What about this gem??

Ken cited the fact that HD DVD is still being offered in the original 250 stores and through Blockbuster’s online rental service. He claims that those 250 stores are stores where there are large numbers of early adopters and the latter, he believes, is Blockbuster’s major growth market.
can someone remind me what the percentage of HD DVD's that were rented from these stores since Nov?

While I do somewhat agree that the whole Blockbuster announcement was blown out of proportion by the media, I find it funny that Toshiba stuck Ken and Universal with damage control. At any rate, the damage has been done. Now we have the corporate suits from Universal trying to downplay it about 3 days too late... If Universal knew about this late last week (which I assume is when the HD DVD promo group found out), I am really surprised that HD DVD did not have a more formal response ready stating exactly what Ken G did in this article..

By next week, everybody is going to be tired of mentioning the Blockbuster thing and only some hard core Blu Ray fanboys will keep on trrying to bring this to the forum table.
HD DVD groop needs to concentrate on the real thing where they need to make a better job. Software sales.

Dude - you could have posted this link in one of the other blockbuster threads. Come on - not every article on this topic needs its own frickin' thread!

Thats why they started giving away an HD set with every PS3, or was that the other way around.

I guess Iphones, any music with the f word in them, and hybrid cars, make that cars in general aren't mainstream then because Walmart doesn't carry them, hence they COULDN'T POSSIBLY be mainstream
