Forum Outtage; Lost Data

As many of you no doubt noticed, the forums suffered an outtage beginning Wednesday afternoon, running through late Thursday. The outtage was due to a hardware failure at our old web host, which remains unresolved.

Although we weren't scheduled to transition to our new servers (and our new web host) for several days, when it became clear that this was a fairly catastrophic failure, our new tech team at Internet Brands managed to push things up and -- in a heroic effort -- resurrect these forums in a matter of hours.

Frustratingly, as a consequence of this outtage, 48 hours worth of data (beginning Monday afternoon and ending Wednesday) is currently lost. Although our old web host is still trying to retrieve it, it's looking less and less likely that they'll be successful, so we've made the difficult decision to re-launch the forums without it.

To all those inconvenienced by this, please accept my sincere apologies.

The good news is now that these forums are being hosted by Internet Brands, there are a series of safeguards in place to assure that nothing like this ever happens again.
