xbox freezing for days then workin for weeks then freezing and just started working??

rigghttt my xbox started freezing before christmas. this could happen when i started playing a game or before i even got to the dashboard.
tried taking the hard drive off and everything else it said on the microsoft site.
after about a week i called xbox and arranged for it to go in for repair and it was magicly working so i didnt bother.
worked no problems for about a month and it started freezing again. but this time only soon as i start a game. happened for a couple of days so i turned it on without touchin it and left it for an hour.
now its workin again for the moment.
any ideas whats goin on???
