Are these systems still covered under warranty? I just don't understand why would you pay a 3rd party company when MS would repair for free. BTW it took exactly 7 days for me to ship, have system repaired, and returned to me.

I would pay a third party for 2 reasons , one microsoft has had their chance twice and could'nt get it right .. 2) these machines are out of warranty.....

I found a local 3rd party to fix mine. I looked on my local craigslist, checked it out, and worked out great. Sat down and showed me what he did, and fixed it in 1 hour for $50. Doesn't help if your not in Minn/St. Paul area, but I would look for local private parties, do your research and maybe take a chance??

One place not to go, Get it Repaired I think in Wis. They took my money, it never worked and they were the nastiest people I have ever dealt with anywhere. They packed the unit poorly and they had several complaints with the better busines bureau (Wish I knew that before doing business).

THeir warranty was only 7 day and since I contacted them after that they basicaly told me tough luck.

Very nasty people.
