Default What Are You Doing With Your HD-DVD Add On?

Do you still use it, is it boxed up, did you sell it? After I got a few stand alone HD-DVD players I connected my add-on to my PC. I never really used it to watch movies (I would rather watch them in the living room), but I guess I thought it would be cool just being able to do it. I also used the drive to read DVD-ROMs and what not. However now I have an HD-DVD/BD-ROM combo drive in my PC, so now the add on just sits in my basement.

I kinda wished I sitll used it for my 360, because I actually do need to extra USB ports for my Live Vision Camera, but I never used it on my 360 anyway. It's also hooked up to my PC now, where it is never used. At least I still use the remote that came witht he add on drive!

I still use it. I don't have an HDTV at school with me (not enough room in the dorms), so I don't have a reason to bring a stand alone player.

Use it in my bedroom with Xbox 360 to watch HD DVD movies there. And my standalone in the livingroom.

Mine is still connected to my 360, so when I go out of town and take my 360 with me, the hd add-on comes too (since at least 3/5 of my hd's are things I don't have in sd dvd).

When I get my new place, the stand alone will go in the bedroom and the 360 in the living room with the add-on (with roommates right now).

I pretty much use mine as a extra USB port. I still have a bunch of HD DVD movies I have not watched. So many toys so little time.

I have one on each Xbox360, One on my HTPC, One on my main PC, One in my car that I hook to my laptop when I am on the road. I use the PC ones to add subtitles to non english discs (where I can find the subs) and the XBox ones whenever I run into a disc that one player or another has an issue playing (MY 805 won't play Winx but the Xbox does just fine..Which is weird as Bruce's 805 plays Winx just fine)

Huh? IF you don't have an HDTV then what good would the HD-DVD add on do for you?

I am trying to sell mine...along with the remains of my HD-DVD collection, I used it maybe 3 times, if the right offer comes by for the add-on and the 26 movies I have, it is gone

I put that sucker back in the box and kept it as a back-up. I did me good until I got the A35. The main thing I miss about it is being in touch w/ the community while watching movies.

Everything HD DVD is now so cheap why not? 5 bucks a movie and they look great!! still lots out there to be found.

My Add-on is hooked up to the PC. Used it the other day to boot up a bart PE image to fix a laptop. I have WinDVD9 on the PC so I could watch an HD DVD movie on it I suppose. If I ever need an extra USB port on the 360, I will know where to look!

I'm considering it, mainly for a few of the HD DVD box sets yet to hit Blu Ray that i've seen around that are cheap.

Go for it!

At the very least:
1) you end up with an extra USB port for the 360 (dunno if it works on the PC)
2) you end up with an external CD-DVD drive which comes in handy sometimes. Can boot newer PCs off of it no problem. It has come in handy for me more than once.
