I finally saw Slither over the weekend, and it was a fun little romp. Nathan Fillion was of course awesome in it, and going through the extras, it felt like everyone had fun on that set (or maybe it's just an EPK thing). I was a little worried about it being a combo disc, but it played just fine on both sides. The audio was a bit weak though (I had to crank it up kinda high to get a decent volume); but still, it was certainly nice to give the old XA2 a workout...

My wife and I just watched the German import of Death at a Funeral. Holy smokes, I was absolutely blown away by how much I enjoyed that little flick! I usually find with Brit comedies I have a hard time understanding the humor or the accents, and was a bit hesitant going into this one. But I'm not sure if it's because an American was directing (Frank Oz), the language was only partly the story with the physical humor, or what, but I was completely on board the entire time. Great flick - a bit disappointing on the extras, and a/v was average, but the movie made up for it all. Definitely glad I added that to the collection.

Watched The Thing last night. Seeing all the commercials for the remake/prequel made me think of John Carpenters classic remake.
I don't care what the white mon say, Santa Clause was a black mon.

Watched Lethal Weapon (for the first time actually). Still can't believe I missed this as a kid (including all of the sequels), but I really enjoyed it. Now to track down #2...

I just finished up the BBC version of Robin Hood, Season 1. I have to say, I really ended up enjoying the season. There was a definitely lull at the beginning - I enjoyed episode one, then I thought the next few episodes were good, but I found myself reaching for my cell phone to play a game at times. But starting with episode 5 or 6 (there's 13), I really got into it, and thought the season got better and better. I'm going to continue with season 2 on DVD since I did enjoy this.
I had major problems with the combo, having to switch between the LG BH200 and Toshiba A35 to play all episodes - not sure if it's a combo issue, or just the fact I bought it used and there's scratches or something. Video / Audio - nothing to write home about, but definitely better than the SD version. Extras are ok - character bits are really 1:30 seconds long instead of the 4-6 minute run times, since they have so many episode bits inside.
All in all, recommended, but not highly recommended. I'll probably stick in the Errol Flynn movie version once I finish the 3 seasons of this.Epson 8350 1080P projector -> 100" screen

I finally saw the Mission Impossible three movies. I have to say that the wife and I really enjoyed the series. Can't wait to see the fourth one in a week or two. What was very interesting to us was that the films got better and better. We really think the third one in the series was the best. It just flowed a bit better. However, I did guess that in the beginning of the third movie that it was a shot from the end a bit. There have been many movies shot where you see the end of a movie at the beginning. Peace out you all. My wife just asked me as I'm typing, "Honey, do you think the Missions are better than the Bourne's?" I straight up said no way in my opinion. The Bourne series tends to make you really think about what is going on in the series. Well, take care you all.

I was down to 2 final HD DVD releases to watch (Heroes S1 & Torchwood) when I decided to purchase a few movies for less than $3 each. Funny that I would never buy these on Blu-ray, even for $5, but a <$3 HD DVD - sold! Tonight was Waterworld. Man, I really enjoyed the movie! The PQ was much better than I expected, even knowing it had received a 4* here. Definitely will watch this one again!

Slither night before last. Which I'm suprised to find was released on BD and is now out of print, copies selling for $120! And yet my little old HD DVD is worth only 25 cents on a trade.
