Default 'The Warriors' - High-Def Digest review

Peter's review of 'The Warriors: Ultimate Director's Cut' is up. He says Paramount has done a fine job with this HD DVD edition of the classic '70s gang flick, which boasts an excellent video transfer, good-enough audio and a solid retrospective doc.

What I want to know is, how did you get a review copy over two weeks in advance? Do you normally receive them so early?

WOW! This is great news indeed. The Warriors was one of favorite movies growing up, and I guess this makes it the fourth time I've owned this movie: one VHS, one SD DVD, one SE DVD, and now the HD DVD.

Great news. "THE WARRIORS" and "STREETS OF FIRE" both coming out. WALTER HILL's gangland opus's - both great films and cult classics.

Must owns!

I've never watched The Warriors before, but I've flirted with buying the DVD for a while. With the positive review here I'll probably snag the HD soon.

The Warriors is my favroite movie of all time,,,i have also owned it on all the formats you've listed and one other BETA(i still have an 860-d digi-beta and a sony edv-9300 enhanced definition beta that still rock),,,and on july 3 when i purchase it on HD-DVD rather than BLU-ray(because of the superior audio) a part of me will laugh at the fact that some day the HD-DVD and BETA versions can sit together side by side on my shelf as two media formats that were superior but lost there respective battles.

I've owned the VHS, SD, and SE versions, and have the HD-DVD on pre-order. Great cult classic.

Got this from Netflix this weekend... and I have to grade the video quality a solid A. The film is only dated by its sound, which was somewhat tinny throughout. If you're looking to see spectacular HD demo-worthy video, check out this release. ...Not to mention the film is a great cult classic. I am adding it to my shopping cart at Amazon.com.
