Paramount Home Entertainment has announced it will bring the seminal '70s classic 'Saturday Night Fever' to HD DVD and Blu-ray this September 18.

don't worry. you guys will be discoing soon enough. paramount probially wants it perfect. i saw airplane in hd... awesome film. it was on universal hd one afternoon and i would wait in line for it on hd dvd.

What'll be even better is when Universal finally comes out with all of the Naked Gun movies in HD.

Saturday night fever is camp shite and will largely appeal to the same crowd as grease and hairspray

I suspect this decision was made a while ago, perhaps at the same time they scrapped Ghost, Officer, and Flashdance (especially since this is in the same type of category of movie). Somehow this one got miscommunicated and stayed on the list while Paramount moved on thinking this was really cancelled.

Hopefully they do re-announce it at some later date, though...
