Default 'Dragonheart' - High-Def Digest Review

Kenneth's review of 'Dragonheart'is up. He's not a big fan of the film itself, but he says this HD DVD is a generally nice looking catalog title, even if it doesn't have the consistent polish of high-def releases with better transfers. Fans of the film will appreciate the 4.5 (out of 5) star audio mix, and the fact that this disc ports over all of the video-based extras from standard-def Collector's Edition.

I just watched this yesterday night, it looked great. Still a lot of fun (it had been years since I last saw it).

A little harsh on the video - I gave it 4 stars, but I guess if we were giving everything that looked descent, a fantastic rating we wouldn't have much to look forward to.

This is my third time owning it. Laserdisc and DTS DVD before, so I'm psyched.

How is the PQ on this one? Which title could the PQ be compared to?

It is a pretty old title, but it looks pretty decent. The dragon looks excellent and overall it is definitely HD even though it is not pristine due to its age.

I think you are misinterpreting "pretty old", "pretty old" means "moderately old", not "very old" like you seem to have interpreted it. Or at least that is the way I use it

Oh ok. And yeah, you're right. The term "pretty old" indicates to me something that is at least 20 year old (movie wise only, as 20 years old women aren't pretty old of course)

Yup, fairly fun flick (if not Oscar material) that I just saw for the first time (can't go wrong for $3.54)...and I was fairly pleased with the transfer. Some shots aren't eye-popping but the detail on the CGI dragon and some of the facial closeups are pretty darn sharp.

I love Dragonheart, great movie! I picked this one up after the end of the war. I agree the transfer was great!
