Thumbs up 'Christmas Story' -- High-Def Digest review

'Tis that time of year again:

Nice disc. The transfer is nothing new for those who hae seen the recent TBS airiings, which come from the same master. But you can't resist 'A Christmas Story,' can you?

I think I must be one of a handful that certainly can miss this movie. I never liked it and its fan base (including my own sister) baffles me. She is such a fan she watches it on TBS (?) that show it 24/7.

Signed,

Christmas Story Scrooge

Then you certainly won't be happy to see that the NY Times just featured a story titled "Recreating ‘A Christmas Story’ for Tourists in Cleveland".

"A San Diego entrepreneur, Brian Jones, bought the house sight unseen on e-Bay for $150,000 in December 2004. He grew up watching “A Christmas Story” every year with his family. After Mr. Jones failed the vision test required to become a Navy pilot, his father tried cheering him up by building him a lamp with a woman’s leg as the base, similar to the one that enchanted Ralphie’s father in the movie."

My wife loves this movie. We watched it last night and she loved it even more as we have 2 boys now. They are only 2 months and 22 months but they will be the age of the boys in the movie soon enough. Christmas will be getting interesting soon..... LOL

Could be talking about the new Ultimate collectors Edition. Review is up for it and everything looks the same. Just some kind of special packaging, nothing added to the movie itself.
