Default 'Midnight Run' - High-Def Digest Review

Just posted Peter's review of 'Midnight Run' on HD DVD. While he loves the film itself, he says that unfortunately Universal hasn't done much to upgrade the film for HD DVD release. All we get is a recycled (albeit pretty decent) transfer from 2003, remastered 5.1 audio and just about no extras.

I've been waiting for a review of this! As it happens my copy is in the post so I should have it any day now anyway..... I guess this one is a little disapponiting much like Universal's release of The Game. Still, at least it is an improvement......

Anybody knows when a hopefully better release of Midnight Run will be released on Bluray ?

Universal hasn't announced any Blu-Ray titles yet.

Even if they did, it's either going to be awhile before this one comes out and if it is released, I'll bet the bank they'll use the same transfer.

I'm surprised the review doesn't mention how downright shrill-sounding the dialogue is in many instances throughout the running time when the actors get loud. More like 1/5 stars IMO.
