Default 'Norbit' - High-Def Digest Review

Peter's review of 'Norbit' is up. Like most critics, he disliked the movie itself, calling it both unfunny and unoriginal. This HD DVD release doesn't seem to help matters, getting mostly mediocre marks for video, audio and supplements.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that this one will not be in my collection!

I can only imagine that anyone that doesn't like Norbit must not like Blazing Saddles, either. I for one love sterotype humor, and prior to the release of the Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie, I hadn't laughed this hard in years. Only 2 people left the theater I saw this at, while every one else was busting a gut.

I found this movie so hilarious, and the transfer isn't that bad according to other people.

re; the reviewer looking for understanding about murphy's choice in films over the past decade-

-- It's called contractual obligation. After his run-in with the law, he either signed a renegotiation or simply had to finish his negotiated number of films, and i think it was disney/touchstone, they just decided to use him in crap movies and kids stuff, to hopefully regain some of his former glories and earlier popularity by putting him in family-friendly films.

Not that I enjoyed any of those films, but there is an ensightful explanation available.

Well I got my copy yesterday. I saw the movie in the theater & thought it was pretty funny. I'm not going to watch the HD DVD until the weekend.

i actually thought this movie was so histerical. i laughed constantly for the 109 minutes. i honestly don't see how this movie got such bad reviews. i wathced it with a group of people and they all loved it. not much to the story line, but the movie is worth a buy

I just finished watching the movie and to me it looks like in the movie theater. Before I bought it I thought about the review and I was afraid I was not going to like the transfer but I was wrong. The PQ is very good and the sound was also very detailed and full of dynamics even though this is just a comedy. I am happy with my purchase.

I really didn't find this movie funny at all. I think all the trailers and tv spots ruined it for me.

This movie will definatley not be added to my HD DVD or Blu-Ray collections(I love being neutral best of both worlds) the movie looked bad from the previews. I will netflix it once it becomes available.

i will say this most of murphys movies in the 90's including beverley hills cop 3 suck. even those lame remakes couldnt save his career.

Im getting coming to america, trading places and any of his 80's films. Now he's washed up and lost his touch.

I must agree that the movie had some High's and Lows. But it's not terrible enough to get only 1 star. I think that certain movies do not agree with the 5 star system. If these was a 10 star system I'll say it's a 5.5!

However, they need to concentrate a little more in the storyline and not so much on the X-Fx. IMHO.
