Default HD DVD Group Responds to Erroneous Report

From the "don't believe everything you read department," tongues have been wagging since late last week over a published report in Home Media Magzine that the HD DVD camp was planning to release nearly 800 high-def titles between now and the end of the year, but the HD DVD Promotional Group has confirmed to us that the report was incorrect.

Was that a sigh of relief I just heard from my wallet?

800 seemed a little ambitious.

If there are still 440 HD DVD releases to come this year, boy is the next 6 months going to busy, especially for the reviewers at 'HIGH-DEF DIGEST' lol.

Titles "WORLDWIDE" also means that most are counted twice.
Same movie here and a european release? Two titles...
Now, if they had said 600 INDIVIDUAL titles....

600 is the number for world wide releases, not individual releases.
160 is the number of released or announced already been announced through September of individual releases in US only.

Well the "HD DVD group" (who ever they are) did confirm they had actually stated 600 titles to be available by the entirety of 2007.

So they were only 200 off!

Although 600 seems alot still!
