I would have to say the Matrix: Ultimate Set, Poseiden, and the T2 Steelbook are superb. I would have to argue that Harry Potter 1-5 set is great as well. Now another one or two that comes to mind is the Blade Runner five-disc set looks amazing on HD-DVD as well. I haven't purchased Band of Brothers yet, but from what I have read from the many opinions in this forum that the HD-DVD version of Band of Brothers eliminates a bit more of the grain versus the Blu-ray edition. In fact, I saw some screenshots in another forum and if the screenshots are correct, it in fact looks better. Peace...

PQ-wise, Band of Brothers HD DVD from Japan is better than the US Blu-ray. However since that time Japan Showgate has released Band of Brothers on Blu-ray, and it is the same transfer and PQ as the HD DVD.

Put Apollo 13 on the list now. Hey, maybe it's a collectors item now? Heh.

I guess at some point I'll put up a list of those transfers that are better on HD DVD. Especially if Universal continues to add to the list.

Yeah I think I'll get a starter list up by this weekend.

The way it's looking right now, I'll eventually be taking some of the remaining Universal exclusives off one list and putting them on another. Being the best version (PQ-wise) still makes them exclusive in that way.

Sure, I plan to have an audio list also. AFAIK, practically all of them are the Paramount titles released during the format war days before they went HD DVD exclusive. DD 640 kbps vs. DD+ 1536 for HD DVD.
Any others you know of would be appreciated (as well as other video improvements).
I still have to do the HD DVD imports, and basically they'll be compared to the US Blu-ray.
