Default 'Elephants Dream' (German Import) - High-Def Digest Review

This is certainly the most unusual (and in some ways the most compelling) import review we've posted yet. The first HD DVD to be released in Europe, this release of the animated short 'Elephants Dream' is designed as a showcase for the HD DVD format, and it offers an impressive array of show-off worthy supplements.

Great review! I picked this one up along with some other imports from German and it really is a great technical showcase, which I think is the primary intent of this release.

I don't intend on buying the HD DVD version, but I downloaded it off the film's website in 1080p a while back, and the PQ and CGI detail was absolutely amazing. The film's plot is really weird though (I would probably go as far as to say it was just stupid). But if you're looking for a great showcase of HD demo material, it's well worth it IMO.

the title is not yet available in the US but can be ordered on the German website:

The review is marked as being for a German Import, so Jed knows that it is not available directly in the US. For info on importing titles, check out the following link: Info on import HD DVD titles

Follow the link I gave above. And yes you can, I have ordered from the various European Amazons many times (including for HD DVDs).

You can also order it in the States from Xploited: http://xploitedcinema.com/catalog/hd...b053ada9cb9060

Default Imports

I order it today on xploitedcinema.com. It's a great US import HD DVD site, and the shipping and prices are great.

Price was $21.95, plus they have some other great imports. I order running scared also; I saw that title on TV in HD.

I love being format neutral. Get to pick all what I want. You guys can fight it out, while I watch some movies.

Blu Ray: 100
HD-DVD : 51

Default Still Waiting...

Blu-ray owners are still waiting for a review of a foreign Blu-ray title. I thought you guys advertised that you are "format agnostic". Well, High-Def Digest is showing something quite different from being format agnostic. I guess we will need a retraction statement published, right?

Here we go again. Maybe give them a little time? They have dozens of movies to review and maybe that one is still shipping. I don't think it's because of bias...but people seem to waste a lot of time arguing that
