Thumbs up 'You, Me & Dupree' -- High-Def Digest review

Universal's latest "U-Control" title, it's a pretty good HD DVD release:

Though the standard-def extras are kinda thin, the U-Control picture-in-picture is much better in terms of making-of material. Transfer is pretty good, too. Still, probably not more than a rental for most.

I agree about the rental, the film passed the time but immediately forgotten.

Kate Hudson was the best thing about the movie!

Just a note. A HD-DVD 30/9 would be a 4 layer disk which cannot be made at present. It must be a 30/5 or a 15/9.

I'm pretty sure that this and also Superman Returns, the Break Up, and Tokyo Drift are 30/9 combos. I'm not sure about the logistics of that being possible but that's what I've read.

HD DVD uses the same 0.6mm platters as SD DVD, two 0.6mm are glued together to make a disc. 30/9 is Double Sided (SD / HD) and double layered on each side.

I personally thought this movie was FANTASTIC. I havn't seen the HD-DVD version, but in theatres it was great. I love this kind of comedy though, so I'm amost guaranteed to buy it.

Well I have heard that Superman is a 30/9 so mabey the can do them now. But they didnt used to be able to make a dual/dual 4 layer disk like this.

I do like Owen Wilson, but in this film it seemed as if his charm was wearing thin a little. He plays the same role in almost every film I've seen of his, but in this one the chemistry just didn't seem to be there!

Blast from the past bump...

how do you find the "Alternate Ending"?

I didn't see anything like an alternate ending in the deleted scenes...

I didn't watch the alternate ending but I did get this movie this week from gameznflix, I wasn't expecting too much but the film wasn't very good at all. I think I may have even fell asleep.
